With so many people truly experiencing the “economic crunch” some have held back from taking advantage of the outrageous sales that have been happening or possibly unable to due to reduced income.
Well ladies we all know that even in a bad economy we want to look our best; for us ladies it is like a psychological booster. This is not to say that we are a shallow bunch, however the average person will take a second or maybe third look at themselves in the ideal outfit and it can boost their disposition in a good way.
As an example in the movie “Last Holiday” with Queen Latifah, notice that in the first part of the movie her conservative demeanor was in part based on her choice of attitude and dress. Once her character took stock of her life and situation, she wanted to enjoy what little bit of life she felt she had left.
Even though she was “informed” that she was to die shortly the clothing she chose made her stand taller and look at life with a positive outlook and encourage those around her.
What a great goal!

Share the Love in 09’
In the same character mentioned above, she did not allow herself to fall in love of be loved, due to her supposed illness, that we saw extend the movie, which made for a great Hollywood ending; however this is real life ladies. Have you shut someone out of your life because you are scared or feel inadequate in some way? Don’t wait until ‘the end’ to see it. Sometimes these moments pass you by faster than you realize. Seize the moment.

For 2009 what do you intend to do?
Last year was full of activity, on a global scale and also a personal scale. Some of it was good, other portions not so good. However I want to focus on the positive as we all should do. I made some goals, some of which I did accomplish and others are still a work in progress.
Did you set yourself goals for 2008? If so think back to what you accomplished on your list. Well what if you did not do anything on the list? Look back at your life for 2008, who did you make smile with just your presence; despite a crumbling economy how did you keep a positive outlook for yourself and your household or family and friends; how many golden friendships did you strengthen or begin? Questions like these have helped me to see the true import of my family, my friends, my self-esteem/worth and my sense of humor. I hope that you were able to reflect this way, if not, why not take the time now and remember 2008. If you cannot remember have a loving friend or family member help you remember the good.
In most of my editorials I am always encouraging you to be something, ‘be bold, be beautiful, but most importantly be you,’ and so I am encouraging you to continue to do this in 2009 even more so.
